R.U.G. Activity Center was incorporated on November 8, 2001 as a Texas nonprofit corporation. The I.R.S. Application for Recognition of Exemption (form 1023) was filed on June 10, 2002. The Determination Letter was issued September 11, 2002. On March 28th, 2006 a final determination letter has been issued classifying the activity center as a public charity. R.U.G. Activity Center is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501 (c) (3). R.U.G. Activity Center qualifies as tax exempt because it will receive a substantial part of its support in the form of contributions from publicly supported organizations, from a governmental unit or from the general public
The corporation is governed by a total of 5 board of directors. The primary activity of the corporation, initially, will be to build the activity center building. After this is completed we will schedule the use of the building and facilities, see to staffing, security and maintenance.
